This is a 2015 film version of "The Scarlet Letter" directed by Elizabeth Berry.

LITERATURE

The "Pretty Little Liars" book series follows the lives of four teenage girls who receive threatening texts from an unknown individual who calls themselves "A". In one of these books, one of the girls named Spencer is reading "The Scarlet Letter" and relates it to her father's affair. These books were published from October 2006 to December 2014.
